"So, You Want To Be An American Citizen?" discusses the nuance between what many Americans think about immigration, and what immigration really is. This interactive and immersive installation that Amalia made for her BFA graduation piece, uses the combination of set design, photo, video, and sound to tell stories of many Southeast Asians who live in the United States (whether they are a citizen, a Green Card holder, or a visa holder), on how immigration has affected their families or themselves, and the painful truth or the false hope that America have given us.
